THE COURSE

From First Mix to Working the Floor.

The DJ Course is a structured, hands-on introduction to club and event DJing. Across 8 Weeks, you go from "what do these jog wheels do" to confidently mixing a clean, energy-controlled set on industry-standard Pioneer gear.

You'll learn the way real DJs work: beat-matching by ear, phrasing, harmonic mixing, building energy, and reading a room — practised on the same CDJ-3000 + DJM setup used in professional clubs.

80% of class time is on the decks. The rest is structured around making that hands-on time count.

Every session is spent on real CDJ-3000s and a DJM mixer — not a simulator. Drills, then free practice, under instructor watch.

02 nightlife

Live Set Practice

You play timed sets for the class and get instant feedback on mixing, selection, and energy control.

03 rate_review

Mentor Mix Reviews

Recorded mixes are reviewed 1-on-1 with your mentor — patterns identified, blind spots flagged, goals set.

04 groups

Guest DJ Sessions

Working DJs from the Surat/Mumbai circuit drop in to demo, critique, and answer real-world questions.

05 celebration

Final Showcase Set

Plan, rehearse, and perform a full set in front of mentors and peers — defended in a final review.

DJ Course FAQs

I have zero DJ experience. Can I really start here? add
Yes — the course is built for that. We start at "what does this jog wheel do." About half of every batch are complete beginners. No prior knowledge expected.
Do I need to own DJ gear or a laptop? add
No. You train on the studio's Pioneer CDJ-3000s and DJM mixer during class. A laptop helps for music library prep at home but isn't mandatory in the first weeks — we guide you on what to buy if you want your own setup.
Do I need to know music theory? add
No. We teach the small amount of practical theory you need — phrasing and harmonic (key) mixing — in plain language, applied directly on the decks.
What gear will I learn on? add
Pioneer CDJ-3000 players and a professional Pioneer DJM mixer — the exact club-standard setup used in venues. Skills transfer the moment you step into a real booth.
Will I learn to mix in key (harmonic mixing)? add
Yes — Module 5 is dedicated to harmonic mixing using the Camelot wheel, plus energy-aware track selection.
Is this useful for wedding and event DJing, not just clubs? add
Very. The crowd-reading, set-building, and formats modules cover events and weddings specifically, alongside club technique.
Will I be able to use Serato / Traktor / controllers after this? add
Yes. The fundamentals — beat-matching, phrasing, EQ, harmonic mixing — transfer to any platform. We focus on club-standard CDJs because they're the hardest and most universal.
How much time will I actually spend on the decks? add
80% of class time is hands-on. Every module ends with a practical mixing assignment, and there's a final live showcase set.
How do I enquire or enroll? add
Click "Enquire Now" or message us on WhatsApp at +91 98765 43210. An advisor calls back within 24 hours with batch dates, fees, EMI options, and answers.
Is there a guidance call before enrolling? add
Yes — a free 15-minute advisor call. We discuss your goals, confirm the course fits, and clarify the curriculum. No pressure to enroll.
When do new batches start? add
New DJ batches start every 4–6 weeks. If a batch is full we add you to a priority list for the next one. The advisor confirms exact dates on the call.
Are EMI or installment options available? add
Yes — flexible EMI plans through our finance partners. Verified college students also get a 10% discount on the full fee.
Will the course help me get gigs? add
It builds the skills and a showcase set. We also route showcase opportunities and referrals into the local event circuit — but getting booked depends on your practice and hustle.
What if I miss a class? add
Theory portions are recorded. Hands-on decks sessions can be made up in dedicated catch-up slots with a mentor, as long as you stay in communication.
Do I get a certificate? add
Yes — a Studio Smart One Academy completion certificate, recognized within our Surat and Mumbai partner network. Your showcase recording carries the most weight when you get booked.
