WHAT'S INCLUDED

Two Stages. One Finished Record.

Mixing brings every recorded element into balance — vocals sit forward, drums hit, bass holds the low end, and the song breathes as a whole. Mastering takes that mix and prepares it for the world: consistent loudness across the album, platform-spec masters, and translation across every speaker.

You can book either service standalone or both as a bundle. Most artists choose the bundle — single workflow, consistent ear, lower combined rate.

Mixing vs Mastering, Plainly Explained

Two different stages, often confused. Here's the clean version — no jargon, no overload.

equalizer STEP 1

Mixing

Make the song sound right.

Mixing is when every recorded part — vocals, drums, bass, guitars, synths, ad-libs — is shaped into one balanced track. Volumes set, tones carved, space added, dynamics controlled. The output is a single stereo file where every element has its place.

Common mixing decisions

graphic_eq STEP 2

Mastering

Make the mix sound right everywhere.

Mastering takes the finished mix and prepares it for release. Loudness is matched to streaming standards, the frequency balance is polished, and the file is exported to the formats each platform expects. The output is a release-ready master that translates from earbuds to club systems.

TL;DR

Mixing balances the song. Mastering finalizes it for release. Most artists need both — done together by the same team makes it cleaner and faster.

File Prep Made Simple

Eight tips that make the workflow faster, cleaner, and revision-light. Skip them and we'll still work with what you have — but these help.

audio_file

Export Stems as WAV

24-bit minimum, 48kHz preferred. No MP3 stems — the compression artifacts get baked into the mix.

volume_down

Leave 6dB of Headroom

Stems and mixes should peak around -6dB. Keeps the mix clean and gives mastering room to work.

folder_zip

Organize Stems Logically

One stem per instrument or group: vocals_lead.wav, vocals_harmony.wav, drums_kick.wav, etc. Folder structure helps.

play_arrow

Stems Start at the Same Bar

All stems should start from bar 1 — same length, same start point. Drop-in alignment, no time-syncing required.

Send 2–3 Reference Tracks

Songs that capture the vibe you want — loudness, tone, energy, vocal placement. Saves us hours of guessing.

Include a Rough Mix

Even a basic stereo bounce of how you envision the song helps us understand intent before we touch faders.

Notes on Specific Issues

Anything you hear that bothers you — "vocal is too quiet in chorus", "kick is muddy". Direct feedback fast-tracks the mix.

Mixing & Mastering FAQs

What is the difference between mixing and mastering? add
Mixing balances every recorded element of a song — vocals, drums, instruments — into one stereo file. Mastering takes that stereo file and prepares it for release: loudness, polish, format, and consistency. Mixing is "make the song sound right." Mastering is "make the mix sound right everywhere."
Can I book mastering only without mixing? add
Yes — mastering-only is one of our most common bookings. Send us your final stereo mix and 1–2 reference tracks. We handle the rest.
What files should I send? add
For mixing: stems as WAV (24-bit, 48kHz) — one stem per instrument or vocal track, all starting at bar 1, peaking around -6dB. For mastering: a single stereo WAV at -6dB headroom, no limiter on the master bus.
Do I need to send stems or can I send a mix? add
For mixing, we need stems — one file per instrument/vocal. For mastering, a single stereo mix is what we need. If you only have a stereo bounce and want it improved, that's mastering-only territory.
How many revisions are included? add
Two revision rounds are included in every mixing booking. Mastering includes one revision pass. Additional revisions can be added at a per-revision rate, quoted upfront.
How long does it take? add
Single track mixing: 5–7 business days for the first mix. Mastering: 2–3 business days. EP/Album projects: 10–14 business days. Rush turnaround available with a small surcharge.
How do I book? add
Send us your project on /contact or WhatsApp at +91 98765 43210. Share track count, format (stems or mix), and target deadline. We respond with a quote within 2 hours during studio hours.
I'm a beginner — will my track sound bad next to professional ones? add
Not after we're done with it. About 40% of our mixing/mastering bookings are first-time releases. We work with the recording quality you have and elevate it as far as the source allows.
Can I send reference tracks? add
Yes — strongly recommended. Send 2–3 reference tracks (links or files) that capture the loudness, tone, and energy you want. Saves significant back-and-forth in revisions.
What formats do I get? add
WAV (24-bit/48kHz), MP3 (320kbps), DDP image (for CD masters), and Apple Digital Master on request. All exports formatted to streaming-platform spec for direct upload.
What if my mix has problems and needs correction first? add
We'll listen and tell you upfront. Sometimes a track needs re-mixing rather than just mastering — we'll quote both options honestly so you can choose what makes sense for the project.
Can I send a full album or just a single? add
Both. We work on singles, EPs (3–6 tracks), and full albums (8–14 tracks). Album projects get track-to-track consistency baked in across the master chain.
Do you provide the mix engineer's notes after the work? add
Yes — every project includes brief written notes on key mix decisions and mastering choices. Useful for your own learning and for any future re-mix or remix work.
What if I don't like the final result? add
You always have 2 revision rounds before signoff. If after both rounds the result isn't landing, we discuss directly — sometimes the issue is in the source, sometimes in our interpretation. We work with you to make it right.
